A Brief Hailstorm.
Cold hard rocks smash upon my face as I walk, but I pay them no heed; my mind is embedded within other affairs. The sound around me is loud and encompassing, the rain and hail indefatigable, like resilient soldiers. The clip clap of my heels as I skip swiftly over every paving stone is almost inaudible to myself, to others I would be as silent as a ghost.
